Diva Dance® was created by Chris Linnares in her journey to discover a more natural way to overcome depression, grief and overweight battles after a dramatic change when she got married and left a successful career in the tropics of Brazil to move to the tundra of Fargo, North Dakota. After extensive research on the power of the mind-body connection, Chris felt compelled to use her knowledge as a Clinical Psychologist and Professional Dancer to develop a natural and powerful way to heal and transform her life. In a world where 72.5 million U.S. adults are obese and antidepressants are the most-used prescription medication, her fun and groundbreaking message of "fewer pills, more booty shaking" is transforming the lives of many women who are discovering a more natural way to create a healthy body, happy mind and hot life.
Chris Linnares continues to live in Fargo, N.D. (U.S.A.), where she is a proud mom, step-mom and "part-time wife" to publisher and filmmaker Billy Black. Together, they created the social project Beautiful Women Of™ to encourage young kids to use Art and Literature as a way to expand the definition of beauty and bring human values to light. In 2011 more than 12,000 kids will have the opportunity to be touched by this mission. A member of the International Coach Federation, her passion for women’s health got her involved in the Dakota Medical Foundation, which works to improve health and access to health care services.
